My name is Andrew Sheldon. I was born and raised in Somerset, with my mum and dad, now deceased. Also my brother Colin and sister Beverley. I was born in 1964. I did the normal thing went to school and after leaving I stayed home to work on my parents farm, before going on my own.
I started with a few sheep and developed from there. I married in 1995 to Teresa. We have 3 children Kirsty James and Daniel. They have all now flown the nest and have children of there own. We are graced with 2 grandaughters Maeve and Lyla and also 2 grandsons Eddie and Finley.
The singing side of it started like most just singing away to myself. I always thought I could do it, and started with a karaoke machine in the local pub. Things started to progress and I was singing once a week in the local hotel. Then the children came along and I concentrated more on the farming. We rented a farm and did all sorts to keep it going we raised beef cattle, we milked cows, farmed sheep but our best experience was raising water buffalo. As the children grew up we moved back to my home town and rented a farm and continued with beef, sheep and some goats. Although farming can be a 24 hour 7 day a week job it has been my life. There have been bad times but also many more good times. It is a lovely way of life, hard at times but a great way to bring up children.
When Covid came and everyone was in lockdown, we had our farm to look after. For many people they only had their four walls to look at and were very lonely. My wife decided to put a video of me singing on facebook to try and break loneliness for many people. This turned out to be the start of something very special. People began to listen and asking if we could play a song for workmates, friends and family. It became a way of people being able to be in touch with others while still being in lockdown. It became so popular that we had a 3-4 week waiting list for song requests as we only put 1 song on a day. At Easter we decided to do a door step party for our neighbours and facebook followers. All our neighbours sat on their driveways and listened. We took our equipment out on to our front lawn and livestreamed. The response was amazing we had over 57K views worldwide, we had found global fame. After lockdown people still kept asking us to sing for them.
My facebook page has grown so much after posting a song called Honey, its unbelievable. It brings so much pleasure to me to see people enjoying what I do.
I am only a tenant farmer and face all the things people face from day to day. I am just an ordinary guy. If you saw me in the pub I would love you to come up and have a chat.
